Bolivia – Full of tradition, bizarre-looking topography and memorable highlights

I have always wanted to visit Bolivia. The incomparable landscape in high altitude and the traditional clothes had fascinated me for ages.

My personal highlights were the world’s largest salt flat of Salar Uyuni, the crystal clear milky way every night, the hilarious Cholita wrestling in El Alto, the colors of the Laguna Route and the miserable but impressive working conditions in one of the active mines in Potosí.

Laguna Route

Colorful lagoons, deep sand a lots of flamingos

Salar Uyuni

The world’s largest salt flat is as impressive as it sounds

Sajama National Park

The volcano Sajama is with 6542m the highest and most beautiful peak in Bolivia

Cholita Wrestling – El Alto

Quite a touristic happening but a very entertaining show in order to support the indigenous community

La Paz & El Alto

The streets of La Paz El Alto are steep, loud and dusty. Still extremely fascinating though.

Cerro Rico active mine tour – Potosí

Barbarous working conditions.
Heat. Toxic air. Stress.
